How is a doula different from a midwife?
A doula offers non-medical support, while a midwife provides clinical care. Doulas and midwives can work together as part of your birth team.
Why should I hire a doula?
Studies show that doulas can help reduce the need for medical interventions, shorten labor, and improve overall birth satisfaction. They also offer continuous, compassionate support unique to your birth journey.
Do you offer postpartum doula services?
Yes, I provide support after birth, including infant care education, emotional support, breastfeeding help, and light household assistance.
Do you support home births, birth center births, and hospital births?
Absolutely. I support births in all settings and will work alongside your chosen healthcare provider. I will respect the medical professional and any team members who will care for you.
Do you offer payment plans or sliding scale fees?
Yes. I believe every birthing person deserves support and I will do my best to be flexible with to make services more accessible.
Are your services covered by insurance?
As of now my Doula services are covered by insurance. Many of my clients have been able to obtain reimbursement from their Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or FSAs. I can provide receipts and documentation for reimbursement.
